We won’t mince words, these are challenging times. We’re facing a war of Russian aggression and fighting for democratic values that so many people around the world hold dear.

As a company founded and based in Ukraine, we felt it was important to share our perspective and thinking about what’s next. The fact is, we’re regular people who need to work, support our families and we care a lot about the quality of what we do. In addition to fighting for our freedom, we are continuing to deliver for our customers and trying to grow our business.

While it may seem odd to focus on business growth at a time like this, what else is there to do? We’ve already had one member of our team join the armed forces and others may join in the future, but Ukraine also needs companies and institutions to continue to operate. We have to deal with the reality of today, but plan and act for the peaceful and prosperous future we all want to see.

Foundations:

Below is a summary of where we stand, while this has little to do with business, it’s important to state our perspective at a time like this:

• Ukraine is fighting on behalf of the entire free world for values that billions of people around the world hold dear. This fight is going strong and Ukraine has defended key cities, the resistance is nothing short of heroic, but the outcome remains uncertain.
• Ukraine is the victim of Russian aggression and this aggression is having a significant humanitarian cost which, despite the strong resistance, is tragic. Millions of people have been displaced.
• We are only a few weeks into a full-scale war and much remains unpredictable, but at this point, we have no choice but to go on with our lives. We need to continue to provide for our families, grow our businesses, and find ways to thrive.
• Flexum is an ambitious company, we’ve achieved quite a lot in our short history. We’re particularly proud of the team we’ve built and we’re going to do everything to support them during this time.
• That means growing our business, getting stronger in every aspect of our operations, finding great entrepreneurs to partner with, and avoiding the victim mentality at all costs. In other words — it’s easy to sulk and completely legitimate to feel depressed about what’s happening, but we have to keep going.

Opportunities:

Flexum’s mission is to help early-stage entrepreneurs turn their vision into beautiful digital products. We typically partner with seasoned entrepreneurs with a track-record of success to help them craft their next chapter. Given the situation in Ukraine, we have limited capacity, but we want to continue to grow and can take on one new client looking to build an MVP.
